Human history is about a lot of things, but mostly it’s about the right men or women at the right place and time. Jefferson, Madison, Adams, and Washington for instance are examples of what might be called American success synergy. Lincoln, Lee, and Grant were indispensable too in their own way, for victory and reconciliation after America’s most costly war. And just as surely, a successful conclusion to WWII might have been impossible without Churchill, Roosevelt, and Stalin.  more>>>

  1. Absolutely in agreement. Regardless of your positioning. Mr Putin has asked a question of the common interest which transcends the sclerotic confines of the public arguments of the western politicians. He asks for real geopolitics which makes one weep about the crippled system which delivers the west to a leadership which has gained ascendence through a habit of supinity

  2. Russia has the longest border with the Islamic world. They are on the frontline. With the recent downing of a Russian plane, perhaps they’ll take a greater role in Syria … and we can pass off this problem to them.

  3. Most probably, the best informed and informing line of thinking that has come out of the “West” for many years! As a “Middle Easterner”, thank you and happy thanks giving to you too.
