by Phyllis Chesler
In this parsha, we are commanded to both “love” and “obey” G-d. The “loving” is easy, the “obeying” is hard given humanity’s frailty and laziness, predilection for envy, slander, greed, and cruelty—and for giving in so easily to temptation. (That’s all of us; me too). Nevertheless, except for those who violate certain laws in Biblical times, we are commanded to be kind towards one another, and to treat each other as we ourselves wish to be treated. Sometimes this is really hard to do.
A sweet Shabbat Shalom Yidden.

I’d say obeying is easier than loving, with which your concluding sentence seems to agree.
