Sunflower Jam, The Finale “Smoke on the Water” at Royal Albert Hall 16th September 2012

As I mentioned as a comment to Bill Corden’s tribute to the 25th anniversary of Les Miserables, this is the lovely Alfie Boe and some other musicians I admire performing together the classic song Smoke on the Water.

I only have still photographs from that night. I took this one left from the screen – that is Uli Jon Roth in blue to the right.

I am reminded that the full line up was Alfie Boe, Bruce Dickinson (Iron Maiden) Sandi Thom, Alice Cooper, John Paul Jones (Led Zeppelin) Micky Moody (Whitesnake) Brian Auger, Uli Jon Roth (Scorpions) Brian May (Queen) Mark King (Level 42) Kerry Ellis, Ian Paice (Deep Purple) Steve Balsamo, Murray Gould, Nick Fyffe, Jerry Brown and the brilliant Musical director Paul “Wix” Wickens (Paul McCartney) + the house band. The Military Wives Choir performed at the beginning of the concert.
