Thank you for your legacy, Queen Elizabeth
by Bill Corden
On this day while the Queen lies in state in Westminster Hall, I am so moved by the respect that hundreds of thousands of people are showing, it’s like a new society has emerged from hiding.
So emotional and so reassuring that the nature of the population is filled with affection for the actual person that was Elizabeth.
To see people crying, to see people bow and curtsey in her honour is something that I thought had disappeared and it gives me a sense that all is not lost in this iphone, internet-obsessed age, an age with seemingly no standards.
King Charles could not have a better start to his reign than this outpouring of just plain love.
“We shall overcome” has some meaning for me at last
Thank you for your legacy, Queen Elizabeth.
