The strange world of communications… how come AI didn’t work this out?

1.Yesterday my niece had an appointment with a specialist. The appointment was scheduled in a Vancouver Medical center but my niece lives in Victoria so she had to take a ferry from Vancouver Island to make the date…. a 3 1/2 hour journey
When she got to see the specialist, in conversation he let her know that he too lived on Vancouver Island not more than a mile away from where she lived, and had flown the 30 minutes from Victoria to Vancouver that very morning to see her.
2. While on a cruise across the Andaman Sea to Thailand , we passed over the very spot
where the quake that caused the Tsunami in 2004 shook the entire world. All of the sophisticated sensors in the area failed to pick up the potential destructive force of the wave.
At the very moment we passed over that spot my phone beeped from an app. to tell me that my garage door had opened back in Vancouver some 12,000 kilometers away.
