I was struck recently by a passage by Theodore Dalrymple in the Salisbury Review, in which he proposed a simple test for vapidity in political speech:  more>>>

  1. This article gave me a complete new outlook towards political speeches. The public goes with the empty promises despite the concept of vapidity being seemingly obvious.

    I personally think this is because we people have stopped being thoughful and as rightly mentioned in the article have to improve ourselves and our societies with time. We have to be the change we wish to happen.
