Thibault De Montbrial: All Of Europe Is At War With Islam[ism]
He has to say, or he thinks he has to say, “Islamism.” You and I know better, and I suspect the redolently-named Thibault de Montbrial does too. It’s Islam, it’s what’s in the Qur’an, what’s in the Hadith (in the most “authentic” recensions of Al-Bukhari and Muslim), what’s in the Sira, what’s in the Shari;a, what’s in the most authoritative jurisconsults, such as Ibn Taymiyya, the “Sheik Al-Islam.”
But he’s getting close, and every little bit helps others to get closer and closer to the dismal truth, soon to be made impossible to avoid, not through anything we say or do, but through what Muslims say and do.
Islam is at war with the West, or rather, at war with All the Rest. It isn’t obviously at war when it’s weak, and for the last few centuries it was weak. But three things changed all that. What are those three things? First, the movement of millions of Muslim migrants into the countries of the West, unopposed, unexamined, and now in that West, outbreeding the natives, taking full advantage of every conceivable benefit, costing tens or possibly hundreds of billions of dollars each year in added security costs to that advanced West, and determined to stay because “it’s our country now.” Second, the OPEC trillions — more than $25 trillion dollars in oil and gas revenues since 1973 alone, constituting the largest transfer of wealth in human history. That money has been spent buying up influence, through business contracts dangled before Western businessmen, and through direct bribes. It has been spent buying up real estate and businesses in the West, where groups of real estate agents, sellers of luxuiry goods, madams of high-class brothels, gambling operations akin to Crockford’s, and others, who in London and Paris make a living servicing, in every way, the visiting pashas of the Gulf. It has been spent on a trillion dollars worth of arms, the largest buildup of arms anywhere, arms that represent the best the West has to offer, in what some in the West used to describe as a good thing, a “recycling of petro-dollars.” And that money, sloshing around, has also gone to fund Al Qaeda, Hamas, Hezbollah, Islamic Jihad, Ansar Al-This and Hezb Al-That, not to mention Pakistan’s Tablighi-Jamaat and Lashker-e-Toiba and a hundred other groups and groupuscules. And third has been the exploitation, by Muslims, of the technologies developed in the West — audiocassettes, videocassettes, satellite television, the Internet — that those Muslims have used to disseminate to previously-insufficiently-aware Muslims of the full message of Islam, and of those Qur’anic passages and Hadith that, taken together, end up molding minds into warriors for Islam, for Al-Qaeda or the Islamic State.
