A group of Taliban fighters who were taking part in a bomb-making class have died in an explosion at a mosque in Afghanistan.

The 209th Shaheen Corps said in a statement on Saturday that 30 Taliban fighters including six foreign nationals who were expert mine makers had been killed in a bomb explosion this morning.

According to the statement, bodies of the six Taliban affiliated foreign nationals could not be identified because of the blast.

The incident is reported to have taken place when a group of Taliban militants gathered at a mosque in the village of Qultaq in Dowlatabad district of Balkh province.

  1. Thirty hate-bombasters achieved their desire, hoisted on their own petards to their paradise, shredded and scarred, backsides on fire. Calls to Gilead, a rush order for balm, found inventory exhausted, thus no heavenly calm. Standing forever, buttocks ablaze, even angels and houris, were all amazed. The lesson taught but not yet learned: playing with matches of madness gets you burned.
