More on Carney’s phantom diversififcation

By William Corden

So what does Carney do in his diversification process?

He awards Federal submarine building contracts to Germany, he lets the Provincial Government order new ferries from China. All of the money could have gone into our own economy and strengthen our shipbuilding capabilities.

Our transnational  transportation system shows as a couple of  spindly threads on a map , one freeway and one railway…….. and it’s choked to capacity. No plans to improve it.

What does he do with the income from our ports and airports? The money sluices into Ottawa without a red cent leaking on the way. Nobody knows how they spend it.

What does he do to improve our spending power?

He allows ridiculous  fee increases for parking and services at all of those same ports and airports.

He allows our currency to devalue by over 25%.

What does he do to make our parks more accessible? He allows increases in  the day parking rates and overnight camping rates to almost  “hotel” rates.

The justice system is inaccessible to anyone but the well off, or extremely poor, with fees just off the charts.

Meantimes civil service salaries at the Management level go through the roof, with nobody to stop them …..and they’re usually jobs with no accountability, staffed by people with no initiative.

Meantimes our forestry industry is dying.

Meantimes our energy is locked in the ground.

Meantimes our fisheries are just about wiped out.

Meantimes people are now leaving the country instead of seeing it as a country of opportunity.

Our population is falling and nobody’s having babies any more.

What’s required is a  seismic event to wake these people from their slumber, perhaps this proposed Alberta referendum on separation will light a much needed fire under the entire system, but what we’ve got now is a hopelessly damaged machine.

  1. Alberta separation? Definitely.

If this doesn’t wake us up, we’re all brain-dead… I can think of some potential repercussions either way…

  2. and still they vote for this self immolation, this national MAiD.
and leave sarcasm about ‘PP’ everywhere. the great saviour, as in the bible
is a fraud, an imposter, a liar, behaving like a nazi with censorship,
surveillance, antisemitism, and the usual Liberal corruption.

and still they vote for this.

  3. Freeways, except short routes in cities, do not exist in Canada. A true freeway is a controlled access roadway. There are no level intersections or RR crossings. Interchange access is via on and off ramp. Towns are bypassed and access is by a “business loop”. This just does not exist here. The TransCanada Highway is not a freeway.
Calling it that is wishful thinking. The driver’s ed textbook did call it a freeway. The instructor suggested we have ourselves a good laugh. We did.
I travelled west on the TransCanada just after going east on I-90. The TCH is an embarrassment.
