A Few Dozen Secular Arabs and Berbers Sign A Petition On The Need To Ignore Or Change Islamic Texts

Here.

It’s good that they publicly recognize that what went on in Paris, or in the Islamic State, or all over the place when Muslims behave violently toward non-Muslims and those Muslims they consider to be, and label as, non-Muslims, does indeed arise out of the texts of Islam. But if there are 1.2 billion Muslims, and about four dozen signers of this petition, half of them Berbers from Morocco (and that identity tugs away from Islam), how long with the world have to wait? And can non-Muslims, who should certainly adduce the petition as evidence that the morally and intellectually tmost advanced self-described Muslims deplore this “Islam had nothing to do with it” insistence of Cameron, Kerry, Merkel, Obama, bet the security and wellbeing of their societies on initiatives such as this? They cannot.

  1. There are outright apostates from Islam. In Algeria and Morocco and even in Tunisia. Mainly of Berber ethnicity. People who have abandoned Islam and become – even in the midst of the dar al Islam – declared followers of the Christian faith. I understand that there is, in France itself, a congregation under the name of “Our Lady of the Kabyle”.

There are, in France itself, North African ex-Muslims – mostly of Berber ethnicity – who have become Catholics or Evangelical Protestants, or else atheists. Many of them contribute to Riposte Laique. They could be given a public voice – under full protection – to discuss and to criticise Islam, to explain why they chose to leave it, and to discuss, specifically, the apostasy law of Islam and why it is that even in France, indeed even in the whole of the western world and beyond it, everywhere that there is a population of Muslims, those Muslims who cease to be Muslims, who leave Islam and become Christians, or atheists (or in some cases, in some countries, Buddhists) must for the most part change their names, change their abode, live under the constant shadow of the sharia assassin.
