We saw Johnny and June in Burlington, Vt, just before they died. It was a great show by great artists and people. Johnny Cash received the Shalom Award from the Jewish National Fund in 1986. His hit, “A Boy Named Sue”, was written by Shel Silverstein. He was a pioneer in championing the alliance between Evangelicals, Israel and Jews. My favorite is “The Folsom Prison Blues”.
