Al Qaeda Seizes Huge Arms Depot In Yemen

Here.

The Americans are supplying the Saudis with intelligence on Houthi targets. The Houthis were the most formidable enmy of Al Qaeda; the weaker the Houthis become, the more likely it is that Al Qaeda will dominate. Does American policy make sense? If the Obama Administration continues to help the Saudi Air Force identify targets, and supplies coordinates, why should it not supply other targets, that is Al Qaeda men and weapons, in the Hadramaut, and demand that the Saudi Air Force target those too — and if Saudi Arabia refuses, then the Americans should make clear they will suppy no further intelligence on the Houthis, and the Saudis are on their own. What could the Saudis say — that they don’t think Al Qaeda is a threat, or at least it’s not a threat to them, but only to Infidels? No, they couldn’t say that. They’d be furious, but silent. Who knows what they would decide to do in the end, if put on the spot by the Americans to show that they oppose, just as much as anyone, Al Qaeda?

  1. The north/south Yemen fight has been raging for some 12oo years now, I suggest everyone hit their history books before battle. The Houti have managed to chew up quite a few Ottoman, Egyptian, Persian and Saudi armies in the past, I am sure they won’t have too much trouble.
