When the ferocious Sonny Liston was knocked out by the ever-since disputed ‘phantom punch’ from Muhammad Ali in their second world heavyweight championship fight, Terry Spinks, the British featherweight champion commented, “I hit my old woman harder than that and she don’t go down.”
