Arabic Billboard Battle in Michigan

A super-PAC calling itself the “Nuisance Committee” founded by the company which produces a party game called Cards Against Humanity has tried to hurt the Trump campaign by placing what they consider to be humorous and disparaging billboards around the country.

The Committee’s goals are to get out the vote, and to create media-friendly Trump stories that scare his opponents to the polls and dishearten and disillusion his supporters.

They must have thought this one was especially clever.

According to Time magazine:

Melissa Harris, a spokesperson for the group, told WWJ Newsradio 950 that her group chose Dearborn because of its large Arab-American population. “We intentionally did not put the translation on the board,” she said. “I like the idea of people who do not speak Arabic having to ask their friends who do… to translate the board for them.”

Harris added that the group hopes to motivate the Arab-American community to vote in the upcoming election, particularly in Michigan which is a swing state.

The Nuisance Committee didn’t expect an answer from the American Mideast Coalition for Trump, which immediately bought TWO billboards in Arabic saying, “Hillary Clinton is very afraid of the side of silent majority.” One billboard is located on I 75 and the second is located on I-94 in Wayne county.

As one member of the American Mideast Coalition for Trump, Dr. Ashley Ansara, explains, “The majority of the Middle Eastern Americans in Michigan and around the country are small business owners who are getting slammed by Obamacare, over-regulation and rising taxes. They don’t advertise the fact that they support Trump because they don’t want to alienate their customers.”

John Hajjar, co-chair of AMCTrump said, “Middle Eastern Americans and Arab Americans in particular are the first victims of Islamist violence and war. President Obama and his Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton, openly engaged the radicals in the Muslim Brotherhood and the Mullahs in Iran. Our people want peace and prosperity here at home and in the countries of their origin which is why they will vote for Donald Trump. Obama and Clinton have made the world a much more violent and dangerous place. Who in their right mind would vote to continue these policies?”

Dr. Ansara went on to say, “On election day, Middle Eastern Americans want to make a strong stand for freedom in the Middle East by voting against Hillary Clinton. Her State Department abandoned the moderates in the Middle East who demonstrated for freedom and democracy during the Green Revolution in Iran and the Arab Spring. Middle Eastern Americans will make their feelings known by decisively voting against her. That is why the billboard says she is afraid of the silent majority.”

So the total billboard map lays out as follows: 1/3 for Clinton (and the Muslim Brotherhood and mullahs of Iran) and 2/3 for Mr. Trump. AMCT boldly predicts a Trump landslide in the Middle Eastern communities of America.
