Armed counter-terror police probing Parsons Green bomb search house in Surrey

A very nice district of Surrey it is too; a far cry from the mean council estates of Tower Hamlets or Newham. From the local newspapers the Times and Star and SW Londoner

An armed police operation is under way by counter-terror officers investigating the Parsons Green bombing. According to reports, residents in the Cavendish Road area of Sunbury-on-Thames, Surrey, have been told to leave their property.

A house is being searched and residents close to the address in Sunbury-on-Thames, Surrey, are being evacuated, Scotland Yard said. The raid comes after the arrest of an 18-year-old man in Dover earlier on Saturday who is understood to be the suspected bomber. The evacuation in Sunbury began at 1.40pm following the arrest at 7.50am. Scotland Yard said it was “a precautionary measure following the arrest of a man in Dover”. A 100-metre cordon is in place.

Speaking after a meeting of the Government’s emergency Cobra committee, Home Secretary Amber Rudd  said the arrest was “very significant”, but added: “The operation is ongoing.”

Investigators – who it is understood are linking the attack to Islamist extremism – are continuing their probe and the threat level remains at critical, which means a further attack is feared to be imminent. The country’s top counter-terrorism officer indicated that a potential network of plotters could have been involved.

  1. If Westerners want to end these evils, you would do worse than to empower the voices of former Muslims and Muslim dissidents who often risk their own safety to call non-Muslims’ attention to the institutional violence under Shari’ah, which I as a liberal Muslima contend is entirely man-made and not from God.

Since our natural allies on the left largely betray us and call us Uncle Tom Muslims, I am desperate enough to call on the Western political right to put pressure on Muslim powerholders and their allies on the left to acknowledge our human rights.

It’s a political issue with much promise, and it might just save many Muslim (and non-Muslim) lives. Whether you decide to post my comment publicly, I thank you for considering my words here, and also for taking the time to do some research on ex-Muslims and their plight.
