Denial and Its Discontents

by D. L. Adams (December 2009)

Our Commander in Chief’s immediate response to the jihadist massacre at Fort Hood was “we don’t know all the answers yet and I would caution against jumping to conclusions until we have all the facts.” What facts remain to be gathered? The traitor, betrayer, Muslim, jihadist killer Major Nidal Malik Hasan shouted “Allah Akbar” (additional sources here, and here) as he gunned down his fellow American soldiers. There is nothing else that we need to know.

Mr. Hasan (“Major” is an official title that Hasan no longer merits) is a murderer, a traitor, a coward; he is also a devout Muslim. He is an adherent of the “religion of peace” whose deity and prophet both command him to fight the non-believers, strike terror into them, and kill them if they do not submit to Islam.

O Prophet! strive hard against the unbelievers and the hypocrites, and be hard against them; and their abode is hell; and evil is the resort. Koran, 66:9

And if any believe not in Allah and His Messenger, We have prepared, for those who reject Allah, a Blazing Fire! Koran, 48:13

O ye who believe! if ye obey those who disbelieve, they will make you turn back on your heels, and ye turn back as losers. Koran, 3:149

O ye who believe! take not the Jews and the Christians for your friends and protectors: They are but friends and protectors to each other. And he amongst you that turns to them (for friendship) is of them. Verily Allah guideth not a people unjust. Koran, 5:51

“Fighting in Allah’s cause” (jihad) is mentioned over 100 times in the Koran. This is the central core of the doctrine of Islam – jihad against the unbeliever.

Ye should believe in Allah and His messenger, and should strive for the cause of Allah with your wealth and your lives. That is better for you, if ye did but know. Koran, 61:11

Those who believe fight in the cause of Allah, and those who reject Faith Fight in the cause of Evil: So fight ye against the friends of Satan: feeble indeed is the cunning of Satan. Koran, 4:76

Mr. Hasan undoubtedly thought that had he been killed, he would have gone directly to Islamic heaven for killing kafirs and terrorizing the survivors, witnesses, and the entire kafir country to which he had pledged an oath of service. In Islamic doctrine, jihad against the unbeliever is both an obligation and the highest form of devotion to Allah and Mohammed; there is no more devout adherent of the ideology of Islam than the jihadist.

Not equal are those believers who sit (at home) and receive no hurt, and those who strive and fight in the cause of Allah with their goods and their persons. Allah hath granted a grade higher to those who strive and fight with their goods and persons than to those who sit (at home). Unto all (in Faith) Hath Allah promised good: But those who strive and fight Hath He distinguished above those who sit (at home) by a special reward.  Koran, 4:95

You will find others who desire that they should be safe from you and secure from their own people; as often as they are sent back to the mischief they get thrown into it headlong; therefore if they do not withdraw from you, and (do not) offer you peace and restrain their hands, then seize them and kill them wherever you find them; and against these We have given you a clear authority. Koran, 4:91

Our mass media, our political and military leaders all pretend that this is not so; that Hasan is another “misunderstander,” another “hijacker” of the “religion of peace.” This is a lie.

There is even the suggestion commonly made now that Mr. Hasan himself was a victim, someone with “problems” as if this could in some way be an explanation or excuse for his Allah-Akbar-jihad-killings at Fort Hood. Such intellectually dishonest “explanations” remove all Islamic linkages to Hasan’s crimes, substituting for his own “Allah Akbar” motive, the more culturally sensitive, politically correct “he-had-some-personal-issues” nonsense.

FORT HOOD, Texas — In the wake of the mass shooting here last week, the U.S. Army announced today that it will look into better ways to identify soldiers showing signs of instability or personal problems.

The announcement came amid increasing reports that friends, relatives and associates of Maj. Nadal Malik Hasan said he showed signs of problems lately, perhaps stemming from political, religious and emotional pressures. (Dallas Morning News, 11/09/2009)

We are deeply confused about Islam as a culture and society; we will not speak the truth about it even when the truth slaps us repeatedly. We are in denial and will not engage a cruel enemy – even to defend ourselves from them on our own soil.

Fight those who believe not in Allah nor the Last Day, nor hold that forbidden which hath been forbidden by Allah and His Messenger, nor acknowledge the religion of Truth, (even if they are) of the People of the Book, until they pay the Jizya with willing submission, and feel themselves subdued. Koran, 9:29

We will not defend ourselves, we will not speak the truth – we are in complete denial and are now in a societal decline reminiscent of Gibbon and the fall of Rome. Every event of jihad against us from prior to 9/11 to today is denied; no linkage is made between jihad warfare against us and the ideology of those who fight us. Islam remains, somehow, a “religion of peace” while it wages warfare against us via jihad attacks and the undermining of our society through falsehoods and infiltration.

“Individual Islamists may appear law-abiding and reasonable, but they are part of a totalitarian movement, and as such, all must be considered potential killers.” Daniel Pipes, American Islam scholar, author.

Ideology and Motivation

We no longer accept apparently that ideology is a motivator for the actions of people; we pretend that every event of evil against us originates in the minds of the “sick” or “harassed” or “those who prefer not to be deployed.” This failure to acknowledge a clear and present danger is a disaster whose consequences one cannot bear to imagine.

O ye who believe! what is the matter with you, that, when ye are asked to go forth in the cause of Allah, ye cling heavily to the earth? Do ye prefer the life of this world to the Hereafter? But little is the comfort of this life, as compared with the Hereafter. Koran, 9:38

Allah hath purchased of the believers their persons and their goods; for theirs (in return) is the garden (of Paradise): they fight in His cause, and slay and are slain: a promise binding on Him in truth, through the Law, the Gospel, and the Qur’an: and who is more faithful to his covenant than Allah. then rejoice in the bargain which ye have concluded: that is the achievement supreme. Koran, 9:111

But the Messenger, and those who believe with him, strive and fight with their wealth and their persons: for them are (all) good things: and it is they who will prosper. Koran, 9:88

Consider our present wars and the expense in blood and treasure: We fight a war in Iraq and Afghanistan for two Islamic states, yet we fight no war here at home and leave our soldiers to the mercy of our adversaries. We fight no war here at home because we want it to go away, we do not want such a war to be real. We deeply, desperately, truly want Islam to be a religion of peace just as our leaders and the adherents of Islam tell us; but it clearly is not so. We do not acknowledge the adversary here at home because to do so would mean that we are in a civilizational war and that our multicultural assumptions of the world and of humanity are entirely bankrupt. If we acknowledge the existence of adversaries here at home we must determine why they fight against us; why they hate us. If ideology is accepted as the motive of our adversary then Islam is not a religion of peace. If this is so, which it is, our culture is in existential danger from a clear threat by hostile forces at home and abroad. But this is not the world in which we want to live so we pretend it is not so; as we pretend Mr. Hasan and his ilk prepare their weapons.

In his description of the mass murder of the surrendered defenseless Jews of the Quraysh tribe after the “Battle of the Ditch” by Mohammed and his followers, Edward Gibbon in Rise and Fall of the Roman Empire (Vol. 5) explained that the fanaticism of Islam negated human feelings. Mass murder is Sunna in Islam. This means that because Mohammed did it, it is therefore the “right” thing, the sanctioned thing, to do. Anything that Mohammed did, and his life is documented in the Sira in extreme detail, is considered “the right thing to do.” “Sunna” is the path that all Muslims are to follow as Mohammed is considered the perfect model for all adherents of Islam to follow forever. This is an inversion of morality and ethics, but it is a concept fundamental to the doctrine of Islam.

The Jews had excited and joined the war of the Koreish: no sooner had the nations retired from the ditch, than Mahomet, without laying aside his armour, marched on the same day to extirpate the hostile race of the children of Koraidha. After a resistance of twenty-five days, they surrendered at discretion. They trusted to the intercession of their old allies of Medina; they could not be ignorant that fanaticism obliterates the feelings of humanity. A venerable elder, to whose judgment they appealed, pronounced the sentence of their death: seven hundred Jews were dragged in chains to the market-place of the city; they descended alive into the grave prepared for their execution and burial; and the apostle beheld with an inflexible eye the slaughter of his helpless enemies. (Edward Gibbon, Rise and Fall of the Roman Empire, Volume 5, Oxford University Press, 1788-89, reprint 1904/1907), pp. 430-431.

Gibbon is not exaggerating; his description matches that of the Sira, Mohammed’s biography. Mohammed’s biography is the foundation of the Sunna, the Path (Way) of Mohammed. All Muslims are to follow this path. Hasan the traitor knew his doctrine well.

The captives were taken into Medina, where they dug mass graves in the marketplace. It was a long day, but eight hundred Jews met their death that day. Mohammed and his twelve year old wife sat and watched the executions the entire day and into the night. The Apostle of Allah had every adult male Jew killed. For every Jewish male pubic hair was a death sentence. If he had no pubic hair, then he would be raised as a Muslim.
Sira (Biography) of Mohammed, Ishaq: 690
(See citation below)

There was one Jewish woman killed on that day. She sat and talked with Mohammed’s child-wife, Aisha. When her time came, she got up, went over to the graves in good spirits and was killed.
Ishaq: 691
as quoted in Mohammed and the Unbelievers, (CSPI, 2006), p. 100.

We are in an existential war of civilizations but will not acknowledge it.

Our wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, for example, are but half wars because we will not acknowledge nor oppose the ideology of the enemy. We are not fighting an ideological war while the adherents of Islam fight our ideology of freedom and democracy with success after success. They cannot help but win because we are not engaged in the totality of the battle.

Political Correctness, Ignorance and National Survival

If we acknowledge that Islam is not a religion of peace the result is the fall of political correctness and multiculturalism. In addition, with this acknowledgement of the doctrine of Islam and the horrible atrocities that people do on account of it, there will be an intellectual re-awakening in this country from the deadening effects of decades of support of the empty and failed theory of multiculturalism and its protector political correctness. Such an intellectual rebirth is required if we are to effectively oppose the tyranny that is Islam. Our culture requires unfettered debate and a total embrace of freedom of speech – this must be considered a moral, intellectual and ethical imperative.

We must arrive at a point soon in America at which people who espouse multicultural nonsense and ignorance are shamed for their lack of understanding and authoritarian approach to discourse and knowledge. Our lack of knowledge of Islam, its history and doctrine, is our greatest weakness. The time must come soon when ignorance of the ideology and doctrine of Islam is considered a moral and ethical failure.

Even our warriors at their deployment centers at our largest military base are not safe from the scourge and horror of jihad; but our leaders say that we must “wait for more facts.” When the tsunami comes we do not do “fact finding” we acknowledge the threat and take action against it – this is called defense and rationality. We are in denial about Islam, its doctrine and history and the horrible things that its adherents do because of it; our denial of the truth is irrational.

We will cast terror into the hearts of those who disbelieve, because they set up with Allah that for which He has sent down no authority, and their abode is the fire, and evil is the abode of the unjust. Koran, 3:151

There are no more facts to weigh – Islam is at war against us; we refuse to acknowledge it. Our failure to acknowledge the motivation of our enemies abroad means that they have a firm foothold here at home, even within our most important institutions (military, and security services, for example). The supremacist and anti-freedom ideology of Islam gains a foothold here because we do not oppose it. We do not oppose it because we fail to acknowledge the fundamentally political nature of this ideology that is clothed in robes and lies of “peace.” We are losing here at home and abroad because we are not engaged on the ideological battlefield of this abysmal jihad war that we do not want and cannot escape.

Our pretend world of multicultural fantasies and ignorance of Islam collapses around us when horrors like the jihad atrocity at Fort Hood occur. Decades of politically correct balderdash begins to slough away and suddenly many of us can think clearly again because the truth is obvious. We must accept the truth, and respond. Our honored innocent dead and the (future) victims of this political ideology of hate and intolerance are offended by our failure to act. Our lack of response is fundamentally about denial, ignorance, and political correctness. Our failures have catastrophic consequences.

“We asked him pointedly, ‘Nidal, do you consider Shari’a law to transcend the Constitution of the United States?’ And he said, ‘Yes,’ ” a classmate told TIME on Monday. “We asked him if homicidal bombers were rewarded for their acts with 72 virgins in heaven and he responded, ‘I’ve done the research – yes.’ Those are comments he made in front of the class.” But such statements apparently didn’t trigger an inquiry. “I was astounded and went to multiple faculty and asked why he was even in the Army,” the officer said. “Political correctness squelched any opportunity to confront him.” (Source)

Lost Lessons of History

Even more unpleasant to consider is that Islam has always been at war against us. They are at war against us because Allah and Mohammed command that it be so. Islam is at war with unbelievers forever and everywhere; we are unbelievers, we exist therefore Islam is at war against us.

The United States has a long, unpleasant history with Islam regardless of the claims of President Obama to the contrary. The Barbary “Pirate” Wars of the late 18th and early 19th centuries that began with the kidnapping of American sailors by jihadists requiring payments of jizya (ransoms) and culminating in our victory at Tripoli (see US Marine Corps Hymn) was our first, but not last, experience with Islam and jihad.

In fact, President Thomas Jefferson created the US Navy specifically to defeat the Barbary Pirates (jihadists). How different is our current response to jihad than that of our founders!

Paying the ransom (jizya) would only lead to further demands, Jefferson argued in letters to future presidents John Adams, then America’s minister to Great Britain, and James Monroe, then a member of Congress. As Jefferson wrote to Adams in a July 11, 1786, letter, “I acknolege [sic] I very early thought it would be best to effect a peace thro’ the medium of war.” Paying tribute will merely invite more demands, and even if a coalition proves workable, the only solution is a strong navy that can reach the pirates. Jefferson argued in an August 18, 1786, letter to James Monroe: “The states must see the rod; perhaps it must be felt by some one of them. . . . Every national citizen must wish to see an effective instrument of coercion, and should fear to see it on any other element than the water. A naval force can never endanger our liberties, nor occasion bloodshed; a land force would do both.” “From what I learn from the temper of my countrymen and their tenaciousness of their money,” Jefferson added in a December 26, 1786, letter to the president of Yale College, Ezra Stiles, “it will be more easy to raise ships and men to fight these pirates into reason, than money to bribe them.” (source)

The greatest contribution of Islam to the development of the United States was the creation of the United States Navy. At an early September, 2009 end of Ramadan celebration at the White House the current occupant of that hallowed building described Islam in glowing terms but failed to mention Jefferson, jihad, and the creation of the US Navy to fight jihad.

“’The contribution of Muslims to the United States are too long to catalog because Muslims are so interwoven into the fabric of our communities and our country,’ Obama said at the Iftar, the dinner that breaks the holiday’s daily fast. The president joined Cabinet secretaries, members of the diplomatic corps and lawmakers to pay tribute to what he called ‘a great religion and its commitment to justice and progress.’”

Mr. Obama has failed to mention the anti-jihad origins of the Navy in his several catalogs of Islam’s “contributions” to the development of the United States. At Cairo, in his address to the so-called “Muslim world,” Mr. Obama said,

“I have come here to seek a new beginning between the United States and Muslims around the world; one based upon mutual interest and mutual respect; and one based upon the truth that America and Islam are not exclusive, and need not be in competition. Instead, they overlap, and share common principles – principles of justice and progress; tolerance and the dignity of all human beings.”

We have seen again and again through the actions of adherents of the ideology of Islam at home and abroad and confirmed by study of the doctrine of Islam itself (Koran, Sira, Hadith) that America (democracy/freedom) and Islam (supremacism/intolerance) are indeed “exclusive.” Islam is incompatible with American democracy and our constitution.

The irony of political correctness today regarding the importance of Islam to the development of the United States is that the US Navy was created to defeat Islamic jihadists.

When they inquired by what right the Barbary states preyed upon American shipping, enslaving both crews and passengers, America’s two foremost envoys (John Adams and Thomas Jefferson) were informed that “it was written in the Koran, that all Nations who should not have acknowledged their authority were sinners, that it was their right and duty to make war upon whoever they could find and to make Slaves of all they could take as prisoners, and that every Mussulman who should be slain in battle was sure to go to Paradise. (Christopher Hitchens, City Journal, Spring, 2007)

The US Navy resolved the problem of the so-called “Barbary Pirates” in the early 19th century, but the problem of jihad at sea continues. On November 18th the Maersk Alabama a US-flagged merchant ship that had been hijacked in April was attacked again by pirates several hundred miles off the Somali coast. This time, the Maersk Alabama escaped after exchanging fire with the pirates. One of the pirates was interviewed in April during the hijacking of the ship and the taking of its captain hostage for three days.

“Often, though, the pirates are friendly and helpful, though they detest use of the p-word. ‘We never kill people. We are Muslims. We are marines, coastguards — not pirates,’ one said.” (Reuters)

Several days before the most recent attack on the Maersk Alabama the government of Spain paid a 3.7 million dollar “ransom” to Somali pirates for the release of a Spanish fishing vessel and her 36 crew members. This “ransom” is modern day jizya, the “protection tax” that dhimmis must pay to their Islamic overlords. The payment of jizya is part of the process of making the kafir submit to Islam. This is the same “ransom” that drove Jefferson to create the Navy to destroy the Barbary Pirates. It was cheaper and more effective in the long run, in Jefferson’s mind, to build a Navy to oppose the evil of the pirates than to continue paying ransom/jizya in perpetuity. Jefferson identified a serious problem that required a strong response and took decisive action to defeat it. His purpose was two-fold; to successfully resolve the matter and to not leave the problem for future generations to suffer.

Our non-response to, and coddling of Islam is an inexcusable failure for which future generations will excoriate us.

9/11 and Mr. Hasan’s treason, betrayal, calculating, jihad murders of his countrymen and women are reminders to us all that Islam is at war with all non-believing cultures and societies. Hasan is a devout adherent of a violent ideology of conquest and supremacy; his uniform and oaths of service and loyalty were meaningless to him.

By Allah, and Allah willing, if I take an oath and later find something else better than that. then I do what is better and expiate my oath. Bukhari, Hadith, 7:67:427)

The ties of Islam and loyalty to Islam override all other loyalties and all other oaths for an adherent of this ideology, as is Mr. Hasan the jihad murderer.

Thou wilt not find any people who believe in Allah and the Last Day, loving those who resist Allah and His Messenger, even though they were their fathers or their sons, or their brothers, or their kindred. For such He has written Faith in their hearts, and strengthened them with a spirit from Himself. And He will admit them to Gardens beneath which Rivers flow, to dwell therein (for ever). Allah will be well pleased with them, and they with Him. They are the Party of Allah. Truly it is the Party of Allah that will achieve Felicity. (Koran, 58:22)

This is a never-ending war that will wax and wane like a bad moon but will never go away. There is nothing that we have done, no component of our foreign policy that has brought this war upon us. The war rages against us because we exist. This is difficult for many in our culture to accept. This non-acceptance is based upon opinion, wishful thinking, ignorance, and a rejection of knowledge.

Denial – Embracing a False Reality

If 9/11 and now the jihad-treason-massacre at Fort Hood are not enough to raise awareness in the United States as to the threat of Islam, what will it take? Must we have a nuked city before the ridiculous fetters of ignorance and politically correct falsehoods and fantasies are ripped away, and we finally respond and protect ourselves?

As a society we deny – even after Fort Hood – the existence of a threat doctrine. This is military terminology for “why the enemy fights us.”

We pretend that all acts of violence, hatred, and intolerance perpetrated by the adherents of the “religion of peace” are not in any way indicative of Islam itself, though the doctrine of Islam is clear that Islam (and those who adhere to this ideology) is at war forever with the kafir, the unbeliever. More and more the adherents of this ideology themselves are clear about their purposes. The jihad war will not stop because we are nice, and don’t want to “offend” anybody. Our tolerance for intolerance is now our great weakness.

Mr. Hasan’s treason and atrocity should bring clarity to our country about the threat that we face; but we’d rather believe that “moderate Muslims” who portray a false picture of the Islamic doctrine for western consumption but speak of the obligation of jihad to their congregants in mosques across the country and in their non-English publications and speeches are the “true Islam.” This is deception; Mohammed said that “War is deception.” There is an Islamic doctrine of deception against the kafir, it is called taqiyah (Bukhari, Hadith, 5:59:369).

Narrated Abu Huraira:
The Prophet said, “Khosrau will be ruined, and there will be no Khosrau after him, and Caesar will surely be ruined and there will be no Caesar after him, and you will spend their treasures in Allah’s Cause.” He called, “War is deceit’. (Bukhari 4,52,267)

Did ye think that ye would enter Heaven without Allah testing those of you who fought hard (In His Cause) and remained steadfast? Koran, 3:142

Our culture refuses to accept that a “religion” can be so hateful and violent and so utterly intolerant. We are trained that Islam is one of the “Abrahamic faiths” and that Jews, Christians, and Muslims are all united as brothers who follow the monotheistic path and look to Abraham as an original leader/founder. It is all a lie. We believed Bill Clinton and Francis Fukiyama when they said that we were in a post- historical world after the fall of the Soviet Union; they were wrong.

We are still dealing with the political and intellectual disaster that resulted from the embrace of this ridiculous anti-historical absurdity of “post-history.” History is not linear, it is cyclical. We are now in a cycle that pre-dates the United States by over a millennia. We don’t want to believe it so we deny it; but it will not go away. We have been overtaken by an historical cycle that started in the Arabian desert over 1400 years ago. We thought for a time that we were immune to being dragged into historical events, that we were above “all of that;” the fall of Soviet Communism proved it, right? Wrong.

Our world now is much more dangerous a place than it was in 1989 when the Soviet Union finally collapsed under its own weight with our help; we just still can’t accept that it is so.

Islam is a political ideology first and foremost. If Islam were primarily a religion this would be reflected in the calendar of Islam, it is not.

Year one of the Islamic calendar does not begin with Mohammed’s “revelations” rather it begins with Mohammed’s emigration from Mecca. For 13 years prior to his emigration from Mecca to Medina Mohammed had been an unsuccessful preacher trying to convert the Jews and polytheists of Mecca to the new religion of Islam. Mainly unsuccessful as a preacher (he got approximately 130 followers in those 13 years), Mohammed immigrated to Medina, and this is when the Islamic calendar begins. Islam’s calendar begins when Mohammed gains political and military power, not when Mohammed received his “revelations” from “Allah.” This fact is illustrative of the political nature of Islam.

Immigration in Islam is critically important. The spread of Islam is the purpose of every adherent of this ideology. Because we Americans are a society of decent people, in the main, we want to welcome people to our country and culture. Islam is not here to assimilate – we have a hard time accepting this truth, even after 9/11 and Fort Hood. Our failure to acknowledge this expansionist aspect of Islam will result in our societal suicide, nothing less.

Mohammed’s Sunnah contains all the needed directives to consolidate the Muslim immigrant community and to establish it as a dynamic and forward socio-political force, even when the original intent of the immigrants is to seek other goals, including the stray cases of those who aim at being integrated into the host society. (Modern Day Trojan Horse: The Islamic Doctrine of Immigration, ANM Publishers, 2009, p.17)

“Sheikh Halima states that among the aims and the objectives of the Hijra (doctrine of Islamic immigration) are to revive jihad, to strengthen the Muslims, and to establish their authority over the non-Muslims.” (ibid, p.34)

Narrated Abu Huraira:
Allah ‘s Apostle said, ” I have been ordered to fight with the people till they say, ‘None has the right to be worshipped but Allah,’ and whoever says, ‘None has the right to be worshipped but Allah,’ his life and property will be saved by me except for Islamic law, and his accounts will be with Allah, (either to punish him or to forgive him.)” Bukhari, Hadith, 4:52:196

Year One of the Islamic calendar does not mark the beginning of “Allah’s revelations” as one might expect, but is about Mohammed’s switch from preacher to war lord and the beginnings of the military and political power of Islam. Islam is a political ideology and complete civilization, which includes a false “religion of peace.”

Narrated ‘Abdullah bin Abi Aufa:
Allah’s Apostle said, “Know that Paradise is under the shades of swords.” Bukhari, Hadith, 4:52:73

We fight two wars in two Islamic countries now, Afghanistan and Iraq. While our military efforts have been largely successful our ideological efforts have not kept pace. They have failed because we are not engaged in an ideological war against our enemies whose ideology is Islam. Our efforts in nation building have also apparently failed as on November 17, 2009 the list of most corrupt countries in the world was headed by Iraq and Afghanistan, not to be outdone of course by Somalia.

One can speculate that our President and his party have concocted a false crisis, health care “reform,” to distract the American people from the unpleasant realities of both conflicts and our ongoing failures in both theaters.

Denial and Confusion – Two Wars for Sharia Law

We fight two wars to uphold and defend two Sharia law Islamic states. This is utterly bizarre as there can be nothing more incompatible with democracy than the barbaric and cruel Islamic “legal code” that is Sharia law. Both Iraq and Afghanistan are Sharia law states, their Constitutions state this clearly.

Iraq Constitution: Article 2-
First: Islam is the official religion of the State and it is a fundamental source of legislation:
A. No law that contradicts the established provisions of Islam may be established.
B. No law that contradicts the principles of democracy may be established.
C. No law that contradicts the rights and basic freedoms stipulated in this constitution may be established.

Second: This Constitution guarantees the Islamic identity of the majority of the Iraqi people and guarantees the full religious rights of all individuals to freedom of religious belief and practice such as Christians, Yazedis, and Mandi Sabeans.

Article 3:
(Iraq is a country of many nationalities, religions and sects and is a founding and active member of the Arab League and is committed to its covenant. Iraq is a part of the Islamic world.) Constitution of Iraq

Afghanistan Constitution: Article One
Ch. 1. Art. 1
Afghanistan is an Islamic Republic, independent, unitary and indivisible state.

Article Two
Ch. 1, Art. 2
The religion of the state of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan is the sacred religion of Islam.

Followers of other religions are free to exercise their faith and perform their religious rites within the limits of the provisions of law.
Constitution of Afghanistan

After WW2 the United States forced a US-style Constitution upon the defeated empire of Japan. Our leading commander in the Pacific, Douglas MacArthur stayed on in Tokyo to make sure that this was done. We did this then because our concepts of “nation building” were profoundly different than they are now. Then our mission was to create sustainable democracies; is our mission now to create and sustain Sharia law Islamic states?

Neither Iraq nor Afghanistan has an American-style constitution; both are Islamic law/Sharia law states – why? This question must be answered if we are to make any sense of our efforts and sacrifices in these two countries. How can it be defended that our best men and women are sent into harm’s way to defend Islamic Sharia law states when Islam is at war with us and is incompatible with American constitutional democracy and our fundamental concepts of human decency and justice?

Our foreign policy is dangerously misguided because our leaders know little or nothing of the doctrine of Islam. We are essentially sacrificing our best people, and spending untold trillions of dollars (badly needed at home) to uphold an ideology that is existentially opposed to us and our existence as a nation and as a people; this is national insanity.

The United States fought a 50-year cold war (occasionally hot) against Communism. The Soviet Union fell in 1989. This was mainly an ideological conflict. We fight no such war against Islam and it adherents. Why do we not engage on an ideological front as Islam does against us? This unanswered question is the foundation of the collapse of the United States as a great nation, and the seed of our fall.

Even at home within our own institutions (including the US military) the adherents of Islam (like Hasan and many others) kill the kafirs because doing so is their ticket to Islamic heaven and 72 virgins and pearly-skinned boys.

“In the sight of God, the martyr has six (unique) qualities: He (God) forgives him at the first opportunity, and shows him his place in paradise, he is saved from the torment of the grave, he is safe from the great fright (of the Resurrection), a crown of honor is placed upon his head– one ruby of which is better than the world and all that is in it– he is married to 72 of the houris, and he gains the right to intercede for 70 of his relatives”
(Al-Tirmidhi, Al-Jami’al-sahih, iii, p. 106 (no. 1712). (Hadith)) and (here, Martyrdom in Islam, by David Cook, Cambridge, 2007, p.37/footnote 7)

O ye who believe! If ye will aid (the cause of) Allah, He will aid you, and plant your feet firmly. Koran, 47:4

And slay them wherever ye find them, and drive them out of the places whence they drove you out, for persecution is worse than slaughter. And fight not with them at the Inviolable Place of Worship until they first attack you there, but if they attack you (there) then slay them. Such is the reward of disbelievers. Koran, 2:191

The fact that we have had no national discussion or debates on this matter since 9/11 in our universities, our media or the halls of our legislatures illustrates and fuels the depth of our ignorance, denial and lack of understanding of Islam. Islam is at war with us because this is the purpose of Islam; we are the enemies of Islam because we are not Muslim.

Fort Hood Jihad Atrocity

Mr. Hasan at Fort Hood, the killer-traitor-jihadist, was fulfilling his obligations according to the Islamic doctrine.

And if you are slain in the way of Allah or you die, certainly forgiveness from Allah and mercy is better than what they amass. Koran, 3:157

The second best deed is to participate in Jihad (Volume 1, Book 2, Number 25, Narrated Abu Huraira) – Allah’s Apostle was asked, “What is the best deed?” He replied, “To believe in Allah and His Apostle (Muhammad). The questioner then asked, “What is the next in goodness? He replied, “To participate in Jihad (religious fighting) in Allah’s Cause.” The questioner again asked, “What is the next (in goodness)?” He replied, “To perform Hajj (Pilgrimage to Mecca) ‘Mubrur, (which is accepted by Allah and is performed with the intention of seeking Allah’s pleasure only and not to show off and without committing a sin and in accordance with the traditions of the Prophet).” Source

Authorities in the US military have known for years that Hasan was espousing jihadist concepts and anti-kafir hatred. It has been known for years that Hasan was a potential “problem” but nothing was ever done about him. He was reassigned from Walter Reed Hospital to Fort Hood instead of being properly cashiered from the service for treason or some other reason with a dishonorable discharge. The atrocity at Fort Hood was a jihad attack facilitated by political correctness, multiculturalism, denial, and ignorance.

The massacre at Fort Hood could easily have been prevented but was not due to the failed culture of political correctness so rife across our society. Even our warriors are not safe because our leaders have embraced this ridiculous concept of total non-confrontation and appeasement of minorities particularly the adherents of the so-called “religion of peace.”

There must be a massive cleaning of house across the institutions of our country so that political correctness is destroyed and those who embrace it to the detriment of their colleagues and their country are immediately dismissed from whatever positions of responsibility that they hold.

Lincoln and Existential War

President Obama swore his presidential oath of office to defend the Constitution from enemies foreign and domestic on Abraham Lincoln’s bible. He proclaimed,

“I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States.”

During the Civil War President Lincoln suspended the writ of Habeaus Corpus at certain times and places. One could make the case that Lincoln took these extraordinary actions to save the Union; this was Lincoln’s own justification. In effect, Lincoln suspended the Constitution at times in order to save it.

Lincoln took extraordinary steps to secure victory for the Union during the Civil War, steps that we today have the privilege to question. Lincoln took these actions because he saw the Civil War as an existential struggle of national survival. The Civil War was an existential war of national political survival; today we are engaged in a great literal existential struggle with Islam, but our leaders today see no ideological component at all. This failure to acknowledge the threat doctrine of the enemy means that we are not fully engaged in this existential struggle; in fact, many across the society, even in positions of leadership and authority, deny that such a struggle exists.

We are now weeks after the largest mass murder by a US soldier on a US military base in our history; this is our newest 9/11; yet the official messages of obfuscation and denial continue. To justify the delay in opening a Congressional investigation into the massacre at Fort Hood,

Rep. Silvestre Reyes, chairman of the Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, said that the NSC had taken over the briefings “due to the high visibility of the issues surrounding the tragic event at Fort Hood,” and that Democratic leaders agreed to postpone any congressional action on the shootings.

“This is a somewhat complicated case,” the Texas Democrat said of the Nov. 6 rampage, attributed to Army Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan, that left 13 dead and 29 wounded on the country’s largest Army post.

There is nothing “complicated” about this “case.” The “complexity” comes in assigning blame for the fact that nothing was done to prevent it though many were aware of the threat of Mr. Hasan. This is political correctness and politics; these obfuscations have no place in our national discussion of this horrible and entirely preventable jihad atrocity.

On November 19th a Congressional committee, led by Joe Lieberman, opened its investigation into the massacre. This is a positive step but a mixed one; even on the first day of the investigation Lieberman displayed his bias which will likely affect the outcome of the investigation.

“We do no favor to all our fellow Americans who are Muslim by ignoring real evidence that a small number of their community have, in fact, become violent Islamists and extremists.”

This embrace of the idea of “extremism” by Senator Lieberman is a tacit denial of the contents of the doctrine of Islam. All jihad terrorist killers, including the traitor jihadist Hasan, place their violent actions in a doctrinal context. Our leaders pretend (because of political correctness, ignorance, and multiculturalism) that the doctrine itself is beyond examination (and not a cause of all of this ongoing and growing jihadist horror) – this is a denial of the lessons of Jefferson and Adams and our long unpleasant, confrontational history with Islam. With a clear intellectual bias already stated one can have little hope for any investigation from this Committee.

We stumble and plod and pretend that doctrine and ideology are footnotes rather than the key; this is a fundamental mistake based upon nothing other than ignorance, political correctness, and wishful thinking. We prefer that Islam is peaceful and will hold to this false concept regardless of the doctrine of Islam, the history of Islam, and the barbaric, violent actions of the adherents of Islam which all show this concept for the lie that it is.

Responding to the release of Hasan’s email traffic that showed his desire for jihad and the “afterlife” Lieberman said,

“What I’m getting at is he may have been looking for spiritual sanctions for what he’s accused of ultimately doing.”

This is a bizarre and politically correct response from Lieberman. Hasan is not “accused,” Hasan is not a “suspect” – Hasan is guilty. Hasan was not “looking” for “spiritual sanctions” for his treason and murder spree at Fort Hood. The killer jihadist traitor already had his “sanctions” directly from Allah and Mohammed in the doctrine of Islam. “Searchers” do not shout “Allah Akbar” as they kill innocent non-Muslims.

A trial in this case is a formality, but an important one nevertheless. With dozens of witnesses there is no question as to guilt, only motive is under scrutiny. When Hasan said “Allah Akbar” the motive was established. This motive exists only within an Islamic doctrinal context. There is no “case” here per se except for us to accept the truth of the horror of what Hasan has done, the damage that he has caused, and the reasons for his murderous treason. The reason for the murders at Fort Hood by the traitor Hasan is the doctrine of Islam.

Jihad and Denial – A Future of Catastrophes

We revere our warriors in this country; we respect them and love them for their bravery, sacrifice, and service. It is utterly unfathomable that we should allow our best and brightest to suffer and die at the hands of a jihadist in American uniform because our leaders will not acknowledge that adherents of this doctrine are a literal and present danger. Our denial of Islam is an Orwellian nightmare from which we must awaken quickly.

Political correctness must be entirely discredited; threats like those made by Hasan must be taken seriously just as Columbine-like threats made in schools by children are responded to with “zero tolerance.” We have expelled children from American schools for drawing violent stick figure cartoons, but in the adult world we pretend that Islam is a “religion of peace” and our innocent fellow Americans are killed on account of this denial. We live in a dream world, a fake reality that is ruled by political correctness, ignorance, and silly childish wishful thinking.

We have abandoned our service men and women to jihad; we have abandoned our country to likely and entirely avoidable defeat. Why is it alright to sacrifice our warriors on the altar of the discredited and failed ideology of political correctness? When did we become so culturally spineless that causing offense to anyone could be seen as a “crime”? This national insanity must cease and the vigorous halls of true debate opened once again so that knowledge and learning can begin anew without fear of labels and silly self-censorship. Political correctness is the tool that the ignorant use to deny us our freedom of speech guarantees; it is intellectually indefensible and must be discredited and abandoned.

We must say loudly that if there are those who are offended by the discussion – too bad!

The concept of “truth” must be re-embraced across our culture as more valuable than “opinion” or “denial.” Those who embrace opinion over facts must be discredited and shamed as intellectual failures; in this way we can have a rebirth of American intellectualism which is now so desperately needed.

The jihadists continue to overplay their hands, and we continue to ignore that they exist. Can there be a more foolish culture in the history of the world?

Perhaps Gibbon would say that Rome was more foolish, but it is not so. We have seen the future, it is 9/11 and more Hasans. Our future is founded upon our past – we cannot run from it or deny that this is so.

We will not acknowledge that we are in an existential war; this is welcome news for our enemies. Mr. Hasan gave warning after warning yet nothing was done to protect our service men and women and our war effort from him. Perhaps we are the most foolish culture in human history; in the history of nations we Americans have the most to lose, and we will not defend ourselves and our democracy.

Many in Europe and across the world look to us as the last bastion of freedom on this planet

Our founders gave us the greatest Constitution ever seen in human history yet our leadership is reluctant to fulfill their oaths to defend it. We have the greatest universities in the world yet we refuse to learn from history, in fact we actively reject the lessons of history. We have the best and brightest but muzzle them and their ideas with political correctness and multicultural lies and complaints of intolerance. We have the constitutional guarantee of freedom of speech but actively prevent its use for fear of “offending” one group or another. These self-imposed checks on our freedoms are indications of the extent of our fall.

Upon the close of the Constitutional Convention in 1787 Benjamin Franklin was approached by a citizen who inquired about the new government.

“Well, Doctor, what have we got—a Republic or a Monarchy?”
“A Republic, if you can keep it.”

Our founders have been through this before, they have left a record. Our early leaders understood the threat of Islam. Why do we ignore them all? President John Quincy Adams wrote,

…he [Muhammad] declared undistinguishing and exterminating war, as a part of his religion, against all the rest of mankind…The precept of the Koran is, perpetual war against all who deny, that Mahomet is the prophet of God.

Our country was founded upon religious tolerance. We somehow are unable to accept, as a culture, that Islam is a political ideology of submission and conquest that also includes a religion. There is little concern over the religious rituals and practices of Islam though after Fort Hood there is now a great deal of concern, again, about the political ideology of Islam.

We keep learning the same lesson again and again and rejecting it again and again; the cost of our denial of the truth is extraordinarily high and will grow higher still.

We must accept the truth of Islam, that it is a political ideology entirely opposed to assimilation into our country, culture, and democracy. Islam does not assimilate; Islam requires all to submit to its law, its religion, and its politics.

If we continue to pretend that Mr. Hasan and his horrific jihad atrocity are extraordinary exceptions and not illustrations of the “religion of peace” itself we cannot and will not respond. If we do not respond we are lost.

Take stock of those around you and you will . . . hear them talk in precise terms about themselves and their surroundings, which would seem to point to them having ideas on the matter. But start to analyse those ideas and you will find that they hardly reflect in any way the reality to which they appear to refer, and if you go deeper you will discover that there is not even an attempt to adjust the ideas to this reality. Quite the contrary: through these notions the individual is trying to cut off any personal vision of reality, of his own very life. For life is at the start a chaos in which one is lost. The individual suspects this, but he is frightened at finding himself face to face with this terrible reality, and tries to cover it over with a curtain of fantasy, where everything is clear. It does not worry him that his “ideas” are not true, he uses them as trenches for the defense of his existence, as scarecrows to frighten away reality.
(Jose Ortega y Gasse quoted in Ernest Becker, The Denial of Death, (Free Press/Simon and Schuster, 1973), p.47.)
