Water Evaporates

Water evaporates

Thank God

Else dripping swimsuits,

Spilled drinking glasses

And torn-hearted tears

From here to Jerusalem

Would make this slippery earth

Impossible to walk

For all but the remorseless

Who, since water evaporates,

Run.
