The fact that the Trump administration, through its outlook and actions, is far removed from its Biden predecessor is becoming more and more obvious as the days pass. The widening chasm between the two was off to a running start as the border situation saw illegal crossings dip to the “lowest levels in decades” after the first few months of Trump’s inauguration. Compare this with the “serious” and “unprecedented” situation in the summer of 2021 when then Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Alejandro Mayorkas, noted that the month of July saw over 200,000 apprehensions with only some 95,000 expelled. This differing approach to migration, especially the illegal sort, is reflected in each administration’s approach to the U.N.’s Global Compact on Safe, Orderly and Regular Migration (GCM) of 2018 and the lengths to which each complied with its measures. Trump would refuse to sign the compact citing its adverse impact on national sovereignty whereas Biden would commit to retroactively supporting the agreement by “participating in its implementation”. As for Canada, it would sign onto the compact enthusiastically even though it forbade “challenging any aspect of migration programs or migrant behaviour” and stipulated there was “no need for migrants to assimilate within their new home”.
It could be argued that a complacent and apathetic West has been set upon by unusual and ubiquitous forces aimed at accelerating its descent into dependence and bondage. Problem is, the effort might very well have backfired as it has engendered the rise of a populism responsible for Brexit, two Trump election wins and a spiritual fervour that is simmering just beneath the surface. Could it even be that the consequence of such an “awakening” in the West is the resetting of Tyler’s historical wheel of fate to fix it firmly between the “spiritual faith” and “great courage” indices? The question then becomes, will Canada join the movement and, as offered by the same NSS that moves to secure the Western hemisphere for freedom, partner with the United States to become “a necessary component of a secure, fully functional North American system”? It would appear that it is crunch time for Canadians as they face a critical decision. Let’s hope that it will be an informed one!

We will be back with you in the new year and look forward to yet another year of fighting against efforts aimed at diminishing your individual, fundamental Charter Rights. As evidenced this year, this is no easy task and will require your attention, good efforts and, yes, even financial support if we are to effectively resist the incessant attacks generated by woke politicians, judges, bureaucrats and globalists that will most certainly present themselves in 2026. Let’s all strap in for what could very well be the tipping point year in the fight that secures our freedoms from the jaws of tyranny!
