I didn’t get a chance to include the latest protest at the Britannia Hotel in Canary Wharf last night. It has been pitched differently in the press this morning, and comments on X from those who were there state that “There’s something definately not right about what happened at the Canary Wharf protest tonight”

The My London newspaper covered it last night, slanted as a protest by Stand up To Racism against the ‘far-right’
About 100 protesters have gathered outside the Britannia Hotel in Canary Wharf to protest against recent anti-migrant demonstrations. There is a heavy police presence at the scene as a number of counter-protesters are also attending. . . Protesters at the Stop the Far Right demonstration are chanting “London is anti-fascist”,
Some counter-protesters are wearing St George’s Cross flags . . . A counter-protester has also unfurled an Israeli flag.
More police have turned up at the Stand Up to Racism protest outside the Britannia Hotel in Canary Wharf, according to PA, as both crowds of protesters and counter-protesters grow bigger. More than a hundred people are protesting with Stand Up to Racism as part of the Defend Refugees, Stop the Far Right demonstrations happening across the UK on Friday.
Dozens of protesters escorted by a large number of police officers could be seen joining the protest outside the hotel, carrying banners that read: “Never again: remember history, fight fascism” and “Refugees welcome”.
Officers have also imposed conditions on the group protesting against the use of the hotel to house asylum seekers.
Watch the video below here, I can’t embed it at the moment

Emma Dunwell and Jack Hadfield have more very effective video clips on their X accounts
University lecturer and former Daily Mirror Journalist Matt Capon doesn’t seem to approve of it (well he wouldn’t would he?) but he’s not wrong when he says “The anti-immigration protesters are clearly emboldened right now – there’s no escaping that fact.”
