Chris Gabrieli, The New Secretary Of Education In Massachusetts

A few years ago the best candidate for governor of Massachusetss was Chris Gabrieli. He understood the importance of education, and sounded sensible and modest and good.  He lost in the Democratic primary. I wanted to call him up and urge him to run again, but never did.  Now he’s been appointed by the new, sensible governor, a Republican, to be the new Secretary of Education. I won’t sing Gabrieli’s praises here, but I will sing the praises of his amusing website at his former employer, Bessemer Capital Ventures. Look at the numbers he offers on the right, here. Babysitters have been in the news recently. There was the Netanyahu ad, showing him as as a reassuring man-you-can-trust to be your children’s “Bibisitter.” Now we can find out, thanks to Chris Gabrieli’s sense of humor, about the good fortune of another babysitter, Maria Grasso, who,for all I know, may be sitting right now by the warm summer banks of the Rio Bio-Bio.
