Coventry sexual abusers ‘plied young girls with drugs and alcohol’

From the Coventry Telegraph

Two men have been convicted of sexually abusing two young girls in Coventry. Farhang Taha and Attullah Areen plied the victims with drugs and alcohol but claimed the girls were lying about the abuse they suffered.

Taha, 26, and Areen, 31, were found guilty last week after a trial concerning the abuse of the two girls, which happened from 2016 to 2018. Both victims, who were teenagers at the time, reported being sexually abused in 2021.

Taha and Areen would pick the girls up in their cars and drive to addresses in Coventry, where they would supply them with cocaine and alcohol before sexually abusing them, a jury heard. Officers found video clips of the abuse on one of their phones . . . But Taha and Areen both denied being responsible and tried to claim the girls were lying.

Both of the victims bravely came forward and provided statements, which led to Taha and Areen being found guilty at Warwick Crown Court. Taha, of Vincent Street, Coventry, and Areen, of Scarborough Way, Coventry, are due to be sentenced.
