For several years Eric Zemmour has been a regular guest on a well-watched television show in France hosted by Laurent Ruquier. This week Ruquier announced publicly that he regretted having had Zemmour on his show, On n’est pas couché (Staying up late for…)..,regretted allowing him to air his views because, he said, Zemmour was in bed, horribile dictu, with the FN. In fact, Eric Zemmour and one other guest, like Zemmour perennially picked on by left-wing guests who always outnumbered them, were the main reason viewers tuned in to the show.
Now Ruquier’s admission, that the eric-zemmours of this world should not ever have been allowed on his, or on any show, so conceived and dedicated, can’t long be endured — and it hasn’t been.
