From the Cambridge News and the Birmingham Mail
A British extremist has been jailed for life after being found guilty of plotting to carry out a terrorist attack at US Air Force bases in East Anglia.
Delivery driver Junead Khan, 25, used his job with a pharmaceutical firm as cover to scout for a possible attack at RAF Lakenheath, Mildenhall or Alconbury.
Detectives discovered he had been exchanging chilling online messages with an Islamic State fighter in Syria calling himself Abu Hussain, (believed to be Birmingham-born IS fanatic Junaid Hussain) who was killed in a US drone strike in the IS stronghold of Raqqa just weeks after his link with the planned UK attack was discovered.
Khan’s trial heard he talked with Hussain about faking a road accident before getting out to attack people directly, and carrying a bomb.
Hussain messaged him: “I can get you addresses but of British soldiers” to which Khan replied “that could also be possible… Most soldiers live in bases which are protected. I suppose on the road is the best idea. Or if you want I can tell u how to make a bomb.”
Khan was found guilty of preparing for an act of terrorism in the UK between May and July 2015 after a trial at Kingston Crown Court in London.
At London’s Kingston Crown Court today (Friday) Khan was jailed for life with a minimum of 12 years.

I just read this article on the BBC site, the difference was that it was not an extremist, but a British man.
Ciccio – there is a reason I will usually chose a local newspaper (in this case two, Birmingham and Cambridge) over the BBC or a national newspaper if I can.
This man may be an ‘extremist’, a ‘terrorist’, a ‘militant’ or – to be entirely accurate – a bearded thug. One thing he most emphatically is not, is British.
