And here’s what she said twenty years ago that is apparently being held against her today:

[…] L’observation que les enfants d’origine vietnamienne s’adaptent généralement mieux aux études et au travail que ceux de l’immigration africaine est le fait de tous les enseignants, même de gauche.»
Interpellée par le socialiste Miche Loyat lors de cette assemblée, Sophie Montel développait ainsi son discours: «Nous affirmons que la civilisation française de notre grand siècle était supérieure dans tous les domaines de l’épanouissement de l’esprit, des arts et des lettres à celles des Huns et des Bantous.»

Never let the facts stand in the way of a good and thoroughgoing left wing prejudice — no matter how many professional teachers attest to the veracity of those facts.
French culture greater than to the culture of tribal primitives — for heaven’s sake, one knows that that cannot be so because the (loony) left said it isn’t, and they have a monopoly when it comes to expressing an opinion on the relative value of different cultures simply because they are so obviously better than, and more sensitive than, everyone else.
