Four arrested for antisemitic convoy bailed over ‘similar’ Salford incident

The four men arrested in connection with the with an investigation into a video which appeared to show antisemitic abuse being shouted from a car in north London have been arrested in connection with a “similar” incident in Salford, Greater Manchester.

Police confirm that the men – who were in a car travelling as part of a convoy of vehicles through the St John’s Wood area on Sunday afternoon –  have also been linked to an incident in the Broughton Park area of Salford in the early hours of that same morning.

The Salford area is known for having a large Jewish community.

Yehudis Fletcher, a human rights campaigner and writer, posted details of the Salford incident on social media on Monday afternoon (May 17).

She wrote: “Last night in Broughton Park, Salford, Jewish owned cars were vandalised and over shabbos, Jews were harassed and abused by #freepalestine protestors. “@gmpolice have been incredible.”

The four men have since been released on bail. Anyone with information is advised to contact Metropolitan Police or GMP.
