The Rev. Franklin Graham laments what he believes is a religious double standard following the public’s response to a brutal five-minute video purporting to show Islamic State militants beheading more than 20 Egyptian Christians.
“Can you imagine the outcry if 21 Muslims had been beheaded by Christians?” he asked in a Facebook post Monday. “Where is the universal condemnation by Muslim leaders around the world?
“As we mourn with the families of those 21 martyrs, we’d better take this warning seriously as these acts of terror will only spread throughout Europe and the United States,” wrote Mr. Graham, son of evangelist Billy Graham. “If this concerns you like it does me, share this. The storm is coming.”
Within five hours of being published, the post had been shared nearly 70,000 times.
I pray the next President will call Franklin Graham to the White House to be his spiritual advisor.

This morning I listened to the CBC’s radio program “The Current.” One episode covered this latest Islamic State atrocity, and here’s how it was introduced:
“When it comes to ISIS and other groups affiliated with it, so much of what we hear reported about them defies easy understanding … if only for the sheer brutality of their tactics. But this latest episode is confounding on the level of strategy, as well. It’s not clear, for example, why the group would choose to attack Christians … or why it would choose to pick a new fight with Egypt, but not on Egyptian soil.”
So, the CBC can’t understand why Islamic State did this. Escalating terror levels is an end in itself, and with Christians as the chosen targets, killed in a coastal location only a few hundred miles across the sea from Italy, the terror is coming closer to Rome. The message is clear: “Christians beware, Islamic State is coming.”
