A GANG of young teens attacked a bus, smashed its windows and set it ablaze with a Molotov cocktail – all while screaming “Allahu Akhbar!”
The teenagers, alleged to be Muslim by the video uploader, turned the bus into a burning inferno during the terrifying attack. (Allahu Akhbar is a bit of a clue!)
Footage of the attack, which took place last Wednesday, emerged after being shared online.
The young men are seen stopping the bus by blocking the public transport vehicle on the road with rubbish bins. According to the police, “a group of individuals had set a trap to force the bus to stop”.
The gang then threatened to kill driver, according to authorities, before kicking him and five other passengers off the vehicle. No one was injured during the chaos which unfolded at 1am on Danielle-Casanova Street, in the Saint-Denis district of Paris. They smashed the windows while allegedly shouting “Allahu Akhbar”.
The young men then threw a Molotov cocktail at the bus which torched the entire vehicle. The bus was then gutted by the fire, which carried into the night. Firefighters had to deploy three water cannons to quell the flames.The metal hull of the bus – split in two – was removed at 4am.
Local mayor Didier Paillard has since called for a “specialized field brigade” to patrol the nearby area and protect the citizens from the dangerous attacks. Mayor Paillard said: “This act of premeditated vandalism, the consequences of which could have been tragic, follows an attempted homicide on a worker by a Molotov cocktail on July 22 and buildings being looted.”
The motive behind the attack remains unclear but an investigation is underway.
