For some, a statement of the obvious. But for others, a revelation, and since it appears in a certifiably mainline publication, The Atlantic, it is likely to reach those who don’t, as a matter of course, visit the websites that might long ago have enlightened them. They need their information to come from a properly safe and sanctified source. So be it.
And his avoidance of the real prescription — to do everything to divide and demoralize, and then shrink in size, the Camp of Islam — is likely at this point too much to expect. But it’s coming. It has to. The question is how much time will it take to fully grasp what shoud be obvious, so as to minimize the harm done to the advanced Western world.

I haven’t read the whole piece yet- I’ve skimmed it. But it seems like a solid piece of reporting and history that places ISIS in its Islamic context, a venerable place in the history of Islamic practice that so many Western liberals and leftists- and no small number of centrists and conservatives- are not wont to recognize.
The Atlantic reaches people other than the PC opiated. It reaches thoughtful people who, being on the receiving end of historical facts, should come to realize how stupid and dangerous Obama and Kerry are.
