Hal Bynum, Songwriter, is 85 years old today

Hal wrote this song in the early sixties. George Jones had the first recording, but Bill Monroe loved it and recorded it several times. He sang it on the Opry every week, “The Old, Old House.”

Hal’s greatest success came with this song, recorded by Kenny Rogers in 1977, “Lucille.”

Here is one recorded by Johnny Cash and Wayon Jennings in 1978, just because.

This is country music.
