Happy Thanksgiving!

Had Ben Franklin had his way, and this had become our national bird, would it have changed the American character at all? Would we be more humble, less militaristic? I wonder.

  1. One thing we can be sure of — Thanksgiving menu would have been different — for would it not be cannibalism to sink one’s teeth into a national bird? The decision to reject turkey from becoming the national symbol thus added the bird to the nation’s cuisine — and was therefore a wise one. To think of it, Americans would have become more aggressive for having less to eat, LOL!!!
