How About We Call Everyday, Ordinary, Garden Variety Islam What It Is?

  1. While it’s no surprise to the counter-jihad that the mainstream (e.g., Jeb Bush) is remiss in Knowing the Enemy, the counter-jihad itself needs to tighten a few screws and bolts and rivets — as when too often a lexical laxity lets loose with the silly term “Islamist” used as in no-nonsense seriousness. One example of countless I could cite over the years — the Lisa Benson radio show episode aired today and promoted on this very site (New English Review) — in which in the notice for it here, one of the guests, Morten Storm, is described as a “former Danish Islamist”.

Though it takes up a little more space, it would be worth it to describe him as “a Danish ex-Muslim who took his Islam seriously by opting for violent jihad instead of stealth jihad — the only two forms of jihad available to all Muslims”.
