“In every battle there comes a time when both sides consider themselves beaten; then he who continues the attack wins.” It’s one of Ulysses S. Grant’s best-known quotes. Ukrainians, for now at least, seem to want to attack wherever they can. Do we have the will to help them?

We don’t know the acceptable way to do the right, appropriate thing. We lack the courage to deal with the consequences of the immediate effective actions we are considering [battlefield nuclear weapons, EMP attack, …] .Thus, previously stated positions will be eroded until some territory is surrendered and a cease fire/armistice/treaty agreed to —- the same old BS until the next government imposed greed ids enacted by a power player, innocents slayer.
It’s like the old song, “After the hudna’s over and the sham is shredded asunder, the new blunder will fill us with wonder in a new convulsion of revulsion.”
