The Administration has chosen not to make clear what everyone knows: that sanctions, and sanctions alone, brought Iran to negotiate. And there are two corollaries to that: first, that the sanctions ought to have been imposed years earlier, and not slowly and incrementally, and second, that even more severe sanctions will work to force Iran– economically desperate — to accept conditions it claims it will never accept.

I think you’re misreading this ostensible admission by the obama regime through the mouth of brennan. I think the sole purpose of brennan’s declaration that the sanctions against iran were effective is to create the false impression that iran made concessions in the nuclear agreement (and that therefore it’s really a good deal for the U.S.), when in fact iran was handed almost everything they could have hoped for.
