Komorebi

Here.

Could “komorebi” be considered a “kigo” word, the indicator of the season in a haiku? Leaves large enough to create that interplay with light and shade are to be found in summer, and possibly “komorebi” could then be the “kigo” word that indicates the season. Or do the leaves stay on in Japan? Let me consult Charles Sprague Sargent’s  “Forest Flora of Japan.” I’ll be right back after a quick trip to the island of Sado, and a look at the Milky Way.
