Kellie-Jay Keen, (aka ThePosieParker) intended to present a Let Woman Speak rally in
Whitechapel tomorrow. If you are not familia with her she coined the riposte to trans activists Woman – noun – Adult Human female. She has spoken frequently about women’s right to our safe, same sex space, and for womanhood not to be eradicated in the UK, Australia and New Zealand. She is usually, as is normal, violently opposed by activists including the Transwo-men who demand privileges that are not theirs.
Recently she has extended her concern to include the attack on women’s freedoms posed by the creep in islamic ideology. She spoke at the Unite the Kingdom rally in May. The focus of tomorrow’s rally is the erasure of women from pubic life and society under islam, and the erasure even of women’s faces under the niqab and burqua.
March or talk at 12:00 BST to make women’s faces and voices more visible in public spaces.
Naturally this suggestion met with opposition. Not just the trans-sexual activists but Stand up to Racism and their klingons. Of more appropriately Stand up for Rapists. They are proposing a counter rally outside Tower Hamlets Town Hall.
Say no to the far right & Islamophobia, Posy Parker not welcome in Tower Hamlets.
She was told yesterday that
“(our) …event in Whitechapel is going to be so heavily protested that we can’t be kept safe at the location we had selected. I believe Tower hamlets council and the mayors office have intervened against our right to speak.”
She pondered which member of members of the council had a problem with women speaking. These are the councillors for the ruling Aspire party (led by the corrupt and convicted Lutfur Rahman) on Tower Hamlets council. There are 12 others.

The rally is now relocated to Victoria Park in the Bethnal Green area of Tower Hamlets, a short bus ride away. This is a more gentrified area. Victoria Park is lovely and I used to know it very well. The canal at the side, a boating lake with a pagoda on an island, and, not many people know this, some of the stone alcoves from Old London Bridge, now installed as sheltered seating.
As KJK says, if she and the other speakers get to say what they want, that’s good.
If they don’t get to speak they have proved their point – women are not heard in Tower Hamlets.
Either way it’s a win.
Tomorrow they are doing it all over again, this time in Hyde Park near Marble Arch.
I wish them well.
