Man arrested over alleged Melbourne New Year’s Eve terror plot

From the Brisbane Times.

A man has been arrested after allegedly planning to carry out a terrorist attack with an automatic rifle at Melbourne’s Federation Square on New Year’s Eve this year.

The 20-year-old man, who was arrested in Werribee on Monday afternoon, was allegedly planning to shoot and kill as many people as he could in Federation Square.

Victoria Police deputy commissioner Shane Patton said the Australian-born Muslim with Somalian parents sought to purchase, but did not acquire, an automatic weapon to carry out the attack that could have had “horrendous” consequences. “We have been monitoring him for a very lengthy period of time,” Mr Patton said. “He’s an Australian citizen and of Somalian parents.”

The young man was in possession of an al-Qaeda guidebook on how to carry out terrorism attacks and is an Islamic State sympathiser, police allege.

“He has accessed documents produced by al-Qaeda Arabian Peninsula … a guidebook in respect to how to commit a terrorist act and also how to use firearms, guns and handguns and rifles,” Mr Patton said.

“He is associated with other persons in the Victorian extremists community … it is a very small community of extremists. The potential of the attack is catastrophic. This is a person who has expressed an intention to try and kill as many people as he could. It’s horrendous. . . “

The man is expected to be charged later on Tuesday with engaging in acts in preparation for a terrorist offence and collecting documents to facilitate a terrorist act.

Police expect him to appear at Melbourne Magistrates Court later today or the early hours of tomorrow. VictoriaPolice, Australian Federal Police and ASIO were involved in the investigation that resulted in the young man’s arrest. Police do not anticipate further arrests.

  1. “An Australian Muslim with Somalian parents”.

Rather, “An Australia-born Muslim with immigrant Muslim parents”.

The ethnicity is irrelevant. No matter where they came from they should never have been admitted to Australia; because if they hadn’t, then this mohammedan would never have been born and brought up here, and would not have had to be expensively monitored, and expensively arrested and tried, and then even more expensively imprisoned in order to prevent him from wreaking murderous mayhem as he obeys the diktats of the Allah gang, the Mohammedan mob, waging Jihad fi sabil allah.
Every damn mohammedan on the ‘watch list’ needs to be Returned to Sender if they are not an Aussie citizen; if they *have* citizenship, then if they acquired it after immigrating here they should be stripped of it, and returned to whatever ummah hellhole they came from; if they were *born* here, like this mass-murderously-inclined devotee of the Cult of Blood and War (and Murder, and Rape, and Slavery, and Armed Robbery), then the law needs to be rejigged so that they can be sentenced to life-long exile (this would also apply to adult Australian-citizen *converts* who are caught pushing sharia and/ or plotting to wage murderous Jihad on non-Muslim Aussies), or else stripped of citizenship and sent back to whatever part of the dar al Islam their family of origin came from.
Got Muslims? Got Jihad. We foolishly allowed Lebanese Muslims, Turkish Muslims, Somali Muslims, Pakistani Muslims, to enter and settle inside our gates.. and now (as well as any amount of welfare fraud, rape – including gang rpaes, intra-ummah murderous criminal feuding, and organised crime galore) we get Jihad, Jihad, Jihad plots… this is but the latest of *many* this year, pullulating out of the 600,000 strong Allah Gang in our midst, most of it in Sydney and Melbourne but now metastasizing throughout the country, even unto regional and rural townships, with mosques – military bases of the Ummah – popping up like mushrooms here, there and everywhere.
Incidentally, I hope the authorities have found out what mosque, or mosques, this bloke **and any family members** frequents/ frequented, and are surprise-raiding-and-searching it/ them.
