Nothing sends me into a rage faster than “we acknowledge that we are operating from the unceded lands of whatever Indian Band they’re trying to mollify”
The latest property tax notice from Vancouver City Hall just arrived … extracting ever growing amounts from us every year (property taxes have doubled in the last 10 years.)
Yes, they have the nerve to advise us in a notice at the bottom of the tax bill, that City Hall itself doesn’t have authority over the land they are taxing, because it’s unceded Indian Land.

Telling us in effect that we don’t own the houses we’ve worked so hard to pay off.
Time and time again we are faced with restrictions and bills that we have to pay on pain of our property being confiscated or our access being denied.
There’s no mechanism in sight to put an end to this kakistocracy as it trundles along the path of ceding ALL of our land to the aboriginals.
They will then charge us even more than the self confessed illegitimate dimwits who are taking it from us now.

Did the fellas who printed the tax statement announce the day of their repentant departure to their true homeland?
Lev.
Their true homeland is Disneyland.
… Or perhaps Wonderland…
