A Muslim convert accused of planning terrorist attacks on Oxford Street and Madame Tussauds has appeared in court. He is also charged with trying to join Daesh, otherwise known as Islamic State, in the Philippines.

Ginger Lewis Ludlow, 26, researched and made written plans to attack the tourist hotspots in the capital from his home in Warren Wood Road in Rochester, it is alleged. He told Chief Magistrate Emma Arbuthnot “I declare myself innocent of that charge” as three charges were read out at Westminster Magistrates Court today.

The overweight terror suspect wore a Muslim skull cap, a green t-shirt and prison issue tracksuit bottoms in the dock.

Chief Magistrate Emma Arbuthnot said: “The defendant has planned an attack in central London, Madame Tussauds and the Oxford Street area. I will not be granting him bail.”

No bail application was made and he was remanded in custody. He will appear before the Central Criminal Court on May 11.
