Muslims and Atheism

by Ibn Warraq (March 2016)

The occupation of God in our minds is one of the most oppressive types of occupation.

One could call the present age as the Golden Age of Atheism in the West. I have already cited the Pew Research Center’s polls about the large change in the number of people in the USA who describe themselves as “non-religious.” The American Religious Identification Survey [ARIS] gave Non-Religious groups the largest gain in terms of absolute numbers – 14,300,000 (8.4% of the population) to 29,400,000 (14.1% of the population) for the period 1990 to 2001 in the USA.  more>>>

  1. As i see the things, as the West is becoming more atheist, it loses its high moral and social standards, because the Western law is traditionally based on biblical values which are good for the society on the long term scale. The frustration of the absence of deity and sense of higher Good leads to admiration of Islam and of religious Muslims without questioning their evil morals that are punishable under the Western law. West is even changing its law to accept Muslim societies in their countries and allows Sharia to replace it.
Meanwhile Muslims in muslim countries are getting tired of Islam and its control of every aspect of private and public life. For a Muslim to become atheist means to rise his moral values, abandon the tyranny of totalitarian, pervert, murderous, hateful cult and become free to apply the high human values.
While Muslims in muslim countries want to get free from the islamic oppression, the most pious Muslims are well accepted in the West, being helped and appreciated by the atheist Westerners. That provokes the negative comments of the “old” immigrants that have lived in the West for years now toward the unlimited immigration policies and their negative consequences on the Western societies. Those who escaped the tyranny of Islam should live it again in the new form as the Sharia neighbourhoods are being established in the West. I can understand their preocuppation and I would start considerating moving again if being in their position.
