All the talk of D-Day (when I was 15 years old in England) reminds me of a saying by some ungrateful Brits that the Yanks stationed in the UK were “overpaid, oversexed and over here.” The GI response was equally succinct. “British soldiers,” it said, “were underpaid, undersexed and under Eisenhower.”
