Ouch! Mammoths Return

By Reg Green

Before the memory fades, let’s reflect on the size of the Philadelphia Eagles’ offensive line which in last Sunday’s Super Bowl averaged 6′ 6″. Each player weighed on average 338 lb.  In the natural world only the front range of the Rockies bears comparison.
Even the quarterback, whose speed and wriggling out of a tackle seem more suited to a lithe figure, weighed over 220 lb. Far off are the days when a famous coach could say of his quarterback, “He has the body of a Greek god….dess.”
