Having consulted specialists on the treaty power, the author at the fact-checking site Politifact rates the letter “mostly true.” Why the “mostly”? Possibly this merely reflects the desire of that author not to completely embarrass those so many vocal critics who were so quck to denounce as unheard-of, as outrageous, as beyond belief, as traitorous, a letter which, in its understanding of the Constitution of the United States, and the powers of the Executive and Legislative branches, turns out to be not traitorous, not beyond belief, not outrageous, not unheard-of, but simply true. Those senatorial signatories knew this. And what worked for them might work for you.
