I have registered my discontent with the Durham Report—that it doesn’t go far enough and advocate punishment (indictments) for the obvious evil-doers at the top—although it does a workman-like job of detailing the treasonous betrayal of Donald Trump before and during his presidency and, even more ominously, the similar betrayal of this country, its constitution, and its citizens.
What has been happening in our government since 2016 hasn’t just been a disaster for the United States, but also for the whole world. That’s because—like it or not—without us, civilization crumbles and the planet is taken over by a form of global communism.
Lenin isn’t the only one to ask, “What Is to Be Done?” Many of us are asking from the other side now.
I’m beginning to think this might not be the time for the Republican Party to indulge in the luxury of an internal primary fight that often can be damaging.
The moment may have come for Donald Trump’s competition to suspend their campaigns in favor of the former president.
When I say suspend, that’s exactly what I mean—take a pause, given the gravity of the situation. They can resume their campaigns if things change.
The symbolism of the suspension would be powerful to the American public. The unity would be impressive.
This is especially true in light of the Durham Report and the revelation from the House Oversight Committee that nine members of the Biden family apparently received (as of now) a total of $10 million from China and Romania for doing absolutely nothing.
The argument against Trump by other candidates is that his policies are good, but they can better pursue them without his “baggage.” But as the report shows, that baggage exists almost entirely because of the most horrendous conspiracy in American history.
Then-President Barack Obama, then-Vice President Joe Biden, then-national security adviser Susan Rice, and the rest of their cartel were informed by then-CIA Director John Brennan of the plot by the Hillary Clinton campaign to deceive, via the bogus Steele dossier, the FBI, the media, and the public about non-existent Trump–Russia collusion.
Brennan informed them of this while the plot was in progress, which this cartel (what else should we call it?) tacitly approved of, as John Durham makes clear.
The report shows that the FBI and some media were in cahoots to effectuate the plot, which created years of disruption in our country and deliberately undermined Trump’s presidency.
To call this worse than Watergate is an understatement. This is closer to what went on during Stalin’s show trials.
It makes the “baggage” argument weak, to say the least. Trump’s continual complaints about the Russia hoax have proven one hundred percent justified as will, undoubtedly, his complaints about the highly politicized prosecutions of Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg and others.
Beyond that, Trump is so far ahead in the polls, his already strong support growing from the exposure of these myriad lies, a suspension by his campaign’s competition, announced or presumed, starts to make sense.
In fact, it might be a relief to the candidates, some of them at least. It might also be a relief to some candidates’ backers who should be worried about throwing good money after bad.
In the latest Rasmussen poll, Trump leads by 45 points (52-17) over Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis and that isn’t even much of an outlier. In other recent polls, by Emerson and perpetually left-leaning CBS, he was up by 46 and by 36, respectively. The rout has been going on for some time.
As for the other possible candidates, they have barely registered from the outset. They continue not to, apart from biotech entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy, who has risen from out of nowhere to rough equivalency with Mike Pence and Nikki Haley, both of whom have been part of our political lives for as long as most of us can remember.
I have spent a good deal of time with Ramaswamy in South Carolina and New Hampshire, and can attest that not only is the man brilliant—don’t believe me, read his “Woke, Inc.”—he’s a superb stump speaker who relates very well with voters.
I know it will be extremely difficult for him and the others to swallow my recommendation to suspend, but I believe they should consider it a patriotic act. And if they do decide to suspend, they should do so with as much fanfare as possible.
We don’t have time to spare. Chinese leader Xi Jinping is poised to act, as foreign policy expert Gordon Chang has warned, not only in Taiwan but right here in our country, where the open border has allowed free entry to who knows how many Chinese agents.
Fortunately, at the moment, Trump’s profile is rising as people are becoming less resistant to recognizing the truth of what occurred. It had been obscured by the media, but now the evidence is leaking out everywhere. Even CNN’s Jake Tapper has mumbled something about how Trump has been exonerated. (Perhaps he was upset to see his name on The Federalist’s list of “61 Hacks Who Peddled Russian Collusion and Should Never Be Trusted Again”).
My former colleague on the PJTV “Poliwood” show, screenwriter and director Lionel Chetwynd, reminded me in a text message of the remarkable similarities between Trump today and Churchill in the early days of World War II.
“The timing is perfect!” Lionel wrote. “Curiously, this parallels Churchill’s rise in the first two weeks of May 1940. Disliked or distrusted by almost everyone in the Tory Party, it was becoming clear that only he had been telling the truth all through the 1930s.”
Thanks to Mr. Durham, not to mention several years of reporting at The Epoch Times, we can only nod in agreement.

Durham report? The Communists/Democrats could care less.
Not a word in the article about election fraud. The GOP is doing nothing about it except discovering that ballot harvesting might help. Pathetic. The only way a Republican wins in 2024 is if we are in a terrible economic situation. If it gets bad the FED Has 500 basis points to cut the FED funds rate and short rates will follow, saving the day.
DeSantis is the better candidate. Women dislike Trump at the margin and the margin is the only thing that counts.
