Rock and Country

Bill Haley and the Comets’ “Rock Around the Clock ” became the first rock and roll #1 hit record on this day in 1954.

Hank Williams, Jr. has always maintained that it was a rip off of his father’s song recorded in 1947, “Move It On Over.”

What do you think?

Thanks to Ken Francis for pointing these out. This is the Hollies singing “Stewball” by Woody Guthrie. Sounds just like John Lennon’s “Happy Christmas (War is Over).” Seems John was a very naughty boy.
