Col. (ret.) Richard E. Kemp, CBE, noted counterinsurgency and counterterrorism expert. He s served 30 years in the British Army fighting terrorism and insurgency, commanding front-line troops in some of the world’s toughest hotspots including Iraq, the Balkans, South Asia and Northern Ireland. He was the former Commander of British Forces in Afghanistan,2003, From 2002 – 2006 he was in the British Prime Minister’s Office, heading the international terrorism team at the Joint Intelligence Committee. Concurrently he served as chairman of the strategic intelligence group at COBRA, the UK national crisis management committee. Throughout his service he worked closely with US forces as well He is a best-selling author, a regular columnist for The Times of London, frequently writes for other national and international newspapers and is a prolific contributor to television and radio news and current affairs programs. He has undertaken many successful speaking tours in the United States, Canada, Australia, Israel, South Africa and Europe as other international allies. He was a founder member of the inter-governmental US-UK International Security Strategy Group.
He is a best-selling author, a regular columnist for The Times of London, frequently writes for other national and international newspapers and is a prolific contributor to television and radio news and current affairs programs. He is a Distinguished Fellow at the Gatestone Institute. Col. Kemp was a front line observer in all three IDF operations against Hamas in Gaza in 2009, 2012 and 2014. He has presented expert testimony on IDF counterterrorism operations in Gaza before tribunals of the UN.
Dr. Sebastian Gorka, Sebastian L. Gorka Ph.D. currently serves as the Major General Matthew C. Horner Distinguished Chair of Military Theory at Marine Corps University. Previously he was Associate Dean of Congressional Affairs and Relations to the Special Operations Community at National Defense University.
A graduate of the University of London and former Kokkalis Fellow at Harvard’s J. F. Kennedy School of Government, he is an Associate Fellow with SOCOM’s Joint Special Operations University and an Adjunct Professor with Georgetown University. He is also a regular instructor with the Special Warfare Center and School in Fort Bragg and for the FBI’s Counterterrorism Division. Dr. Gorka has testified before Congress and briefed the CIA, ODNI, and NCTC.
Dr. Gorka served as an adviser to the Department of Defense in the renewal of its Irregular Warfare Joint Operating Concept and is contributing co?editor, with the late COL Nick Pratt (USMC ret.) and Dr. Christopher Harmon, of Toward a Grand Strategy Against Terrorism (McGraw Hill). His special areas of interest are the strategic culture and ideology of Global Jihadism and the proper use of Grand Strategy.
