Tanveer Ahmed who murdered Glasgow shopkeeper Asad Shah held jail meet-and-greets with fantatics who hail him as a hero

From the Scottish Sun

A HATE killer serving life for murdering a shopkeeper he claimed had insulted Islam held jail meet-and-greets with fantatics who hail him as a hero.

Tanveer Ahmed, 33, also autographed snaps of himself for visitors in awe at his “execution” of fellow Muslim Asad Shah, 40, in Shawlands, Glasgow.

Prison chiefs were forced to intervene after sickos flocked to see the knife nut at Shotts nick, Lanarkshire.

MP Siobhain McDonagh said: “The killing brought him rock star status. It’s terrifying.”

Extremist Ahmed signs photos and posters behind bars for the brainwashed Islamic fanatics who idolise him as a “celebrity”. He regularly receives letters from supporters asking to visit and salute him in jail for stabbing newsagent Asad Shah to death over a Happy Easter message to customers. . . devoted family man Asad — who followed Islam’s moderate Ahmadi sect — was killed four hours after his friendly Facebook post. Uber cabbie Ahmed drove 200 miles from his home in Bradford, Yorkshire, to “execute” the victim at his store in Shawlands, Glasgow.

Senior insiders at Shotts prison, Lanarkshire, say zealots from across the UK pray in the car park before going in for the vile meet-and-greets.

A highly-placed source said: “He’s hardcore when it comes to religion and other Muslim inmates are in thrall to him.

Sources told how Ahmed boasted about “earning a fortune” from the sale of the signed pics of himself. It’s suspected a go-between may have been “facilitating” the sale of the killer’s grotesque “trophies”. An insider said: “It’s feared he has someone or people outside the nick helping sell signed pictures of him, merchandise if you like. He’s been
crowing to anyone that’ll listen that money from the picture sale is paid into a bank account outside. . . “

Tory Annie Wells MSP said: “The killer should not be able to participate in this circus. If that means no visitors, then so be it.”
