The Modern Dilemma Confronting Roman Catholic and Jewish Relations…

By Gerald A. Honigman

A thought provoking editorial appeared in the July 17, 2026 Washington Jewish Week which posed the dilemma which exists today due to the emergence of popular podcast and You Tube media personalities, such as E. Michael Jones, Nick Fuentes and Candace Owens, who now compete with traditional Catholic authorities to distort and negate the hard won progress made in Catholic-Jewish relations which really did not occur, because of millennially ingrained and indoctrinated antisemitic teachings inculcated into countless millions of people, especially since the Roman Emperor Constantine became converted to the Church of Rome…

While others such as Tucker Carlson, are not Catholics, he’s a leading antisemitic personally and member of the Episcopalian Church, very similar to the Church of Rome…

Whatever excuses that are made to whitewash the deadly venom, the paraphrased words of the Gospel of John in which he refers to Jews who reject a mortal, human, flesh and blood “G_d” because it completely negates original Jewish monotheistic beliefs about a purely spiritual Ruach HaKodesh aa “sons of the Devil, who do their father’s deeds,” wound up having all kinds of tragic consequences.

The idea of the Devil’s spawn Jew led even the enlightened Michelangelo to place what most people see as Devil’s horns on his famous sculpture of Moses, even though they were supposedly representing the radiant shining of the Hebrew Prophet’s face aa he descended Mt. Sinai.

A 4th century mistranslation by St. Jerome of the Hebrew original “qaran” changed the above facial radiance into the Latin Vulgate word for horns “cornuta” (à la the Devil) instead.

Crucial teachings of Church Fathers made matters worse.

The first picture of a Jew in England is titled “Aaron, son of the Devil“…

Using St. John Chrysostom’s homilies, the Archbishop of Constantinople, as an example, let’s just say the road to Auschwitz was indeed paved with numerous such teachings. See some of these in the second half of this essay…

Name the nasty problem—the plague, poisoned wells, murdered children with blood drained, or whatever—the perfidious Jews were responsible.

Centuries of humiliations, forced conversions, Passion Plays, forced ghettoization, inquisitions and accompanying autos de-fes, Crusades, expulsions, etc. continued clear up to the recent disrespect Pope Francis showed towards the resurrected nation of Israel Reborn when he supported Arab claims that Yehoshua/Jesus of Nazareth was actually not a Judaean teacher born in the same Judaean town King David was born in a thousand years earlier, Bethlehem, but was actually an Arab instead…

During Christmas 2024, he permitted à crèche with the baby Jesus wearing àn Arab keffiyeh to be displayed on Vatican property, thereby endorsing the Arab claims to phony aboriginal rights, while 4,000 years of solid corroborating evidence proves the Jewish People indeed possess those ancestral rights…

Here’s what Arabs will never possess, despite all their fairy tales and obfuscations

It must be said that there are good people on both sides of this tragic conflict over how the Kingdom of Heaven is to be interpreted.

And, unfortunately, there are also too many horrendously bigoted antisemites re-emerging now as well—especially after the worse deliberate atrocities were committed on the Jewish People on the Biblical Holy Day of Simchat Torah, (October 7th, 2023), since the Holocaust.

Like sharks detecting a spilled drop of blood in water, they succeeded in rallying countless numbers of Jew-hating sheeple who believe anything their practically genetically inherited animus instructs them to.

And so Jews are once again fair game, whether for the unthinking rabble or on the property of the most elite university campuses all over the world.

Given such realities

  1. Speaking of Mamdani (which we are not), I have been considering what has been written above for some time now.

There’s a book around called “Constantine’s Sword – The Church and the Jews” written by a former priest (he may still be one) James Carroll. Worth reading.

What almost immediately hit me and has continued to hit me is how the “Church Fathers” were able to convince themselves that they could be utterly not only blameless for the lies and the deadly results of these lies for the past 1700 years, but placed on a pedestal as being the holiest of the holy according to what Christianity teaches. I guess the expression “God is not fooled” hadn’t been thought of during most of this time.

Of course Dr. Honigman is correct; so long as it is a man (Yehoshua) who is being worshipped the universality of a religion is not a factor, although from my fairly extensive studies it ought to be.

Furthermore, it astounds me that men who think the way the “Church Fathers” did, could in any way assume that the God they profoundly worshipped would let them get away unscathed for the poisen seeds they had sown. Of course included in these seeds was the fact that Yehoshua the man was in fact a hated Jew, from the House of David, no less. This appeared not to have been a factor, for most of these 1700 years.

Of course what could be further said on this subject, is immense, but one important thing is missing: it is the Universal Law of Cause-and-Effect. I assume that many of our readers don’t know much about this Law, but it affects all of us without exception, whether we are aware of it or not, or should I say, “no matter what we think of it”. That is another matter…
