1.   Excellent essay. What is not mentioned, however, is that a prior and necessary step towards waging an effective battle against Islamic ideology is to decisively refute the false notion that Islam is a race, and that criticizing it is racist. Unlike race, any ideology, whether religious or not, is a man-made creation and is as fallible as the people who conceive of it. To try and shut off debate is unfair and will only serve to perpetuate bad ideas.
