I will tell you a secret. I am in love with my dishwasher. Not my Hobart. That’s a machine, and only a fool or an anti-Semite can love a machine. No, I am in love with my Mexican dishwasher, Miguel. Now, this is no blind passion. I am sixty-three. The time for blind passion is over. No, he evokes in me mature, tender feelings for which the appropriate term, if I understand such things correctly, is love. more>>>

Magnificant!
Dear Robin, thank you so much for your timely responce,it meant a great deal to me.Bravo,Bravo on being published, trust me it will not b your last.May I suggest your next tome might b a 1940’s style noir .Maybe a return to the cold war & espionage, inculding double agents,& sexy spys, stolen goverment papers exposing top politicians.I’d b front row @ the cafe for that.Im honored to b included in your work& yes I can see Miguels beautiful smiling face so willing to work.As for me I still had a lot to learn about the business & to be honest I was stressed out a little and some what insecure .Of course I made mistakes but I’ve learned so much since that time.I always surround myself with the most talented & gifted people from all walks of life.Yes I still work out 5-days a week as Pablo so sweetly noticed & acknowledged.Im 61-years old now but look like im 35.please excuse me while I pat myself on the back for that.I’ll b passing by on some saturday for brunch miss my brioche .Hope to see you there. It was the best of times for me there. No regrets.Take care of yourself & your family.Carlos Valentin.
An excellent and moving story, bringing to life characters whose paths cross and run parallel—all immigrants making their way. Bravo.
