Tommy Robinson praises Israel at Tel Aviv event, blasts UK gov’t

From World Israel News

Right-wing British activist Tommy Robinson spoke to a sold-out crowd of around 1,000 people in Tel Aviv on Saturday night, blasting political correctness and the liberal government running his country while praising Israelis for their patriotism and voicing full-throated support for the Jewish state.

Robinson  . . .  received a warm welcome from the diverse audience, which included both English-speaking immigrants and native-born Israelis.

Diaspora Affairs Minister Amichai Chikli (Likud), who invited Robinson to tour and speak in Israel, attended the event, along with Religious Zionism MK Simcha Rothman.

Also present was Sheffi Paz, a longtime anti-migration activist from South Tel Aviv. The talk was moderated by conservative Israeli commentator Gadi Taub.

Robinson’s wide-ranging speech covered several issues, including the UK government’s recent decision to recognize a Palestinian state. He said such a move would never have passed a public vote, claiming that most Britons stand with Israel and reject what he called a Palestinian “terror state.”

Robinson said he was not surprised by the atrocities committed by Hamas terrorists on October 7, warning that he had spent over a decade raising the alarm about Islamic extremism. However, he said he was “shocked by the response in the Western world.”

He blasted weekly anti-Israel protests in London, accusing authorities of giving “full reign of our capital cities to jihadists,” and criticized police for allowing demonstrators to wave Hamas, Hezbollah, and ISIS flags.

Shortly after Robinson began speaking, he was interrupted by former Times of Israel political correspondent Raoul Wootliff, who shouted, “Tommy Robinson is a racist” while holding a piece of paper with the same message.

Wootliff clashed with security, attempting to remain in the venue and trying to continue to disrupt the event. He was eventually removed as the crowd chanted, “Shame on you.”

Robinson denied claims that he is a racist, stressing that any person – regardless of faith, ethnicity, or sexual orientation – is welcome in his movement, under one condition: “That they love Great Britain.

  1. Tommy in Jerusalem

The Star of David and the Cross of George
Now crossing continents a union forge:
    A pact of lions against a common foe;
A nameless evil spelling endless woe.

Now fearless warriors from these different tribes
Attack the enemy from different sides.
Together, comrades on the field at last,
No foe of theirs but utterly outclassed!

      1. I liked “outclassed” because of course Tommy is working class. But he outclasses all the chattering classes, etc.
